On Dec 19th at 14:26hrs Talleyville was dispatched to assist Station 13 (Claymont) on reports of a structure fire. Callers reported smoke coming from a residence in the 800 block of W Boxborough Dr in the Ballymeade development. 253 and 257 made the response with 13 personnell. First arriving Claymont units were on scene with heavy fire showing from all sides of the structure. Claymont Command immediately asked for the 2nd alarm. Crews made a strong push and successfully contained the fire to the oringinal building and directly adjacent exposure. Approximately 20 minutes into the incident, Claymont Command ordered people clear of the original fire building due to potential for its collapse, and it subsequently fell moments later. Talleyville units remained in service for several hours while the fire was brought under control. The State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
