Busy day for the men of the fighting 25th, while handling a childs birthday party at the firehouse for residents of our district, crews took in the MVC w/ rollover. Upon clearing that fireboard keyed up R25 and the Squad. Both units marked up, and the box was dropped for the 1100 block of Cypress rd in the Claymont Local.  R25 and the squad responding on the road landed in the 1100 block to find smoke showing from the residence. The Squad arrived and requested the upgrade with smoke showing while 258 advised there was an active fire in the basement. R25 took the plug in front of the house. Crews stretched a handline to the basement and got a quick knock on the fire. The other crew checked the first and second floors for extension. A check of the 2nd floor resulted in finding a small fire in one room. Crews stretched a 2nd line for extinguishment.  Crews operated for a while assisting with overhaul then made themselves available.
