MVC With Entrapment - 4000 Blk Kennett Pike

On Sunday morning 3/27/11 at 01:58 hours Talleyville was alerted to an MVC with entrapment, car reported on fire in the 4000 block of Kennett Pike. R-25, C-25, and 25-3 made the response. C-25 was on-scene with multiple entrapments, and car overturned in water, negative on the car fire. Fireboard upgraded the MVC adding Rescue 14. Rescue 16 (Duty Crew) also made the response. Upon Rescue 25 arrival, one occupant had been extricated and was being carried up the bank to C-25 who would transport to Christiana Hospital. One patient remained trapped in the car. Rescue 25's crew went to work immediately placing the Jaws of Life in service to pry the door open and free the trapped occupant who was transported to Christiana by A14. Conflicting reports emerged from the surviving occupant as to how many passengers were in the car. Crews searched the surrounding wooded area on foot, and Trooper4 searched the area from the air. All searches returned negative results. The scene was placed under control at 02:43hrs and was turned over to Delaware State Police for investigation.
